As part of Transmitter’s commitment to strengthening and supporting organizations that champion racial, social and environmental equity we have started a new donation-based program as an ongoing effort to serve not-for-profit organizations. The profits from each sale will be donated to an organization with a core mission of advancing equity and justice, with a portion also going back to the artist's contributing work.
This year’s Benefit Program features a selection of works from the artists Nathan Bajar, Paloma Barhaugh-Bordas, Mildred Beltré, Erik Benson, Joshua Nierodzinski and Nataša Prljević, Jiwon Rhie, and Cougar Vigil. The exhibition, Stop Making Sense REMIX will be on view at the Gallery from Dec. 17th – Feb. 12th, 2023 and the works will remain online through the end of the year.
About Mayday Space:
Mayday Space is both a neighborhood resource and a citywide destination for engaging programming, a home for radical ideas and debate, and a welcoming gathering place for people and movements to work, learn, celebrate and build together. As an organizing center and events space for grassroots organizations to host their fundraiser parties, leadership retreats and more, Mayday inspires and sustains a justice-oriented community that is both publicly identifiable and approachable. As a movement project, Mayday also works with long-time community organizers to amplify neighborhood issues such as immigrant rights, food justice, tenants protections, gentrification and displacement as well as broader global issues such as climate justice and Internet freedom.
