Transmitter is pleased to present Under Time of Lampshades , a group exhibition co-curated with Far By Wide and benefitting The Campaign Against Hunger.
Under Time of Lampshades marks the second year anniversary of Far By Wide and features a selection of artists from Far By Wide’s initial ten projects. The exhibition title comes from the arrangement of text derived from previous project titles, but taken independently Under Time of Lampshades also refers to a separate physical or psychological space where artists may access a flow state.
Far By Wide is an artist-run project that organizes thematic exhibitions online and in pop-up spaces with 50% of sales supporting social and environmental justice organizations. As the holiday season approaches, we’re excited to work with a food justice organization which helps provide access to healthy meals and a wide range of programs and services.
The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) is one of the most robust anti-hunger and nutrition education nonprofits in New York City. TCAH's mission is to empower its neighbors to lead healthier, more productive and self-sufficient lives via access to safe, nutritious food and related resources. TCAH's goal is the creation of equitable food systems to combat chronic diet-related illnesses by focusing on the social determinants of health and wellbeing. This is achieved through an array of programs and services such as nutrition education and health, employment, and access to key social services.
